Some visitors report that peak times can lead to crowded conditions, especially on Saturday afternoons during lunch and dinner hours.

The limited parking options can be an inconvenience, especially during busy periods.

A few patrons feel that the menu, while delightful, might benefit from additional vegetarian options to cater to diverse diets.

Absolutely fabulous little pub. The nicest welcome you could ask for. Cheerful staff, very enthusiastic. Wicked music being played. Food was spot on and well worth the money. Definitely recommended! Will come again. Such lovely character. Entrance through a gate door is novel. A charming place. Thanks guys.

Fantastic 15th century pub, such an old interesting pub to be in, all original timbers and low ceilings really makes it a quaint unique place. Staff were friendly, welcoming and chatty. Couldn't believe the price of the food for the high quality it was made to Definitely worth a walk off the beaten path of the town.

We went in on a monday lunch time a few weeks ago. The pub was quiet but all the staff were super friendly and attentive and the pies were delicious. And there was a deal on desert so got a chocolate fudge cake too - great value and absolutelely delicious. If you're in the area would definitely recommend :)

Visited on 25th February, mid Sunday afternoon as one of a party of 4. There's a lovely cosy ambience to this smashing pub and this was especially welcome on a raw February day. Lovely staff behind the bar and the guy who took our food order deserves a medal for surviving the confusion that we unintentionally threw at him! We all had starters; prawn cocktail, soup of the day and pate. All of them great. 4 roasts followed. Good portions of meat and plenty of vegetables, always a plus point. The table service was on point too, with polite and cheerful staff. There is a good selection of ales. I'd recommend this pub as a great place for good food, well prepared and presented.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal here last night. A really tasty farmhouse pate and then... the most enormous mixed grill! My partner was very impressed as this is often his go to choice on a menu. He was not disappointed. All the meat was tender and tasty. I had the rump steak which was beautiful. The chips were delicious and tasted fresh and crispy. The onion rings and mushrooms were a lovely added extra. Needless to say we asked for a doggy bag from the mixed grill. And the service and drinks were impeccable. Warm cosy fire and cosy atmosphere. We are finding it harder to find places that do real home cooked food done well, but we found it here. Thanks for making our night out effortless and relaxing. Highly recommended.
